The Dark Ones by Demetrius O. Davis

I had been told this was an excellent book so, me being me, went into it with total expectations of hating it.  However, I was very much surprised.  I really liked this book.  The author truly handles the many details of the fights, training and interaction with a uniqueness that staves off boredom.  I can’t wait for this to come out in the movies, as I know it is destined to be, just to see that last fight with the Angels.  In my mind, thanks to the graphic and verbose descriptions given by the author, that was an epic fight and one that will be referred to over and over as “the” fight.

Normally, I try to put in things that could help the author with their next book or some little nuances that were included that maybe could have been left out.  But I’m pleased to say I didn’t find any of that in this book.  I feel I was there getting the training and that the finite details relayed were extremely important and added so much to the plot and final outcome.

I wouldn’t change a thing.

I liked this book a lot.  I enjoyed reading it and didn’t feel that there were any spots that needed cutting or spiffing up.  It is longer than normal in that there are more pages than a regular book but well worth digging into it and defiantly adds value.  I can’t wait to read more from this author.
